Origins of the Pixiebob Breed
by Kyle Fuller of Aston Woods PixieBobs

The origination of the Pixie-Bob came from out in the Cascade mountains, near the shore of Puget Sound where a short tailed polydactyl female barn cat was being attacked by another cat. The owner of the cat turned on the back porch light to see what was going on. They saw a Coastal Red Bobcat leaving the scene. Two months later their barn cat had a litter of unusually wild looking kittens. They were big boned with long ear tips and spotted pelts. As they grew older the kittens seemed to be highly intelligent and remarkably different to any other domestic breed of cat. Coincidently, other litters were being born throughout the North-West. All had and shared a similar story or "Legend" to them. A women named Carol Brewer purchased one of these legend cats, and recognised it's intelligent dog like qualities. She found an unrelated female legend cat and her first kitten she named "Pixie". She then decided to take on the task of begining a new breed. Although we would like to believe our legend, there is no scientific proof. All DNA test have been negative for wild markers.
